Hello My Dear Furry Friends and Precious Pet Parents!

‘Tis the season to be jolly … and jolly we are!  What with
parties, and outings and presents to buy, and, not to forget,
a new year to plan!  Over here at Sit BooBoo Sit we’ve been
barking up a storm!

Oh listen dearest furry friends … please be on your best behavior
when your parents have guests over for the holidays.  By all means
greet them warmly but do not jump on them!  Trust me on this!
You can snag their clothing, or topple them, or…heaven forbid,
if you are a tiny doggie you just might get stepped on! No.no.no!

Have you noticed that there are many of us that now have
Poodle as part of our genes!   I have.  On my daily walkies I
have noticed “Labadoodles, Cockadoodles,  and many more
combinations.  What is behind this trend?  I checked it out.

Here is the lowdown, the goods on this Poodle cross thing.
Now don’t be upset …unless of course you are a Poodle, then
you definitely won’t be upset … Poodles, it seems, are easy to
train, noble, kind, do not shed, and gosh, gee, whiz, are elegant,
well proportioned and have a proud carriage … especially
the standard size.  Woof!… I didn’t make this up!   So the
thinking is that these qualities can be inbred with other types of
doggies for even better looks, better smarts, and better temperament!
Hmph! 

While on the subject of Poodles, did you know that this possibly
most pampered of all breeds was once a hunting dog, and a water
dog at that?  Yes!  And that is why they began to look like some sort
of a pompom (sorry Poodles).  You see, it was important to keep
their joints covered with a lot of fur to protect them from the cold
water, while the rest of their fur was clipped so that the pooch could
move easily in the water!  Rrrrr…who’d have thought!

Ok…this is for mommie’s eyes (I know, you are reading over
your precious’ haunches…).  The New York Pet Fashion Week
which will be held August 23 and 24 in New York, is going to
Tokyo!  No, not in August!  In January!  Now I happen to know
that the Japanese are high on style for dogs  but now, Pet Fashion
Week will show its first runway show in Tokyo on January 12 and
13.  Talk about trends!  Pet FashionWeek is where cutting edge
fashion meets innovative lifestyle for us!  There will be lots to
report then! 

Before I close off … just to let you know, we’ve been on the trail,
sniffing out goodies and will be making another announcement
in the next BooBoo Speaks! In the meantime … may you find many
a treat under the tree --- bones to chew, toys to squeeze, frisbies to
chase, and a nice soft bed to snuggle up in!
